IRVING, Texas – It’s not exactly football season, but it feels that way to some extent at Valley Ranch.

At least the newest of Dallas Cow ‘boys are back on the field today (Friday) for the start of a two-day rookie minicamp that includes the draft picks, undrafted free agents, and even a few workout players here on a tryout basis.

While first-round pick Zack Martin is here headlining the group, second-rounder DeMarcus Lawrence is not expected to attend today’s practice so he can witness the birth of his child.

Three of the nine draft picks have already signed their contracts. A few more could be locked up this week after the Dallas Cowboys signed seventh-rounders Will Smith, Ben Gardner, and Terrance Mitchell.

While the minicamp is closed to the public as usual, fans can visit The Boys Are Back website to get a close-up view of the action.

  • Rowan Kavner, David Helman, Nick Eatman and Bryan Broaddus will cover the two practices with live tweets from the sidelines of the sights and sounds.
  • During the morning practice (10:45 a.m. to Noon, CDT), Bryan Broaddus will host a Live Look-In, giving fans a video look of the team period.
  • Jason Garrett’s press conference is live at 12:10 p.m.
  • Hear from the players and coaches through videos and stories from the locker room after the first day of practice.
  • Analysis and in-depth scouting reports following the two practices.

  1. Not many blogs use SOURCE or DIRECT info like this one does. Though i suspect many of the ones that DO….swipe it from The ‘Boys Are Back Blog.

    1. hahaha That’s so true. The Boys Are Back website makes life very easy for other sites looking to capture Dallas Cowboys content!!! I include full audio and video when it’s available so that readers can get an in-depth view of what players, coaches and the Jones’ are trying to convey at any given time. I always listen to them before writing or posting related articles. Gives fans a better sense of what’s going on, instead of relying too much on someone else’s view or interpretation.
